Unfortunately the Beavers lost to Las Vegas 3-2. Maegan had a blast though eating the peanuts out of the shell and throwing the shells on the ground.

I don't know who this guy below is but he wouldn't move out of Maegan's picture. Just as it became her turn to see the beaver he decided he wanted his picture taken also. Ugh!!!

So, I let Maegan hang around a bit longer and then she was able to give Mr. Beaver a hug.

Disney's "A Christmas Carol" Train Tour

Disney's "A Christmas Carol" Train Tour was in Portland today so Maegan and I got to go see it. It was fun I had never been to our downtown train station. It is beautiful. We didn't get there as early as I wanted to but I'm still glad we got there in the morning. Our wait was about 40 minutes to get inside the train. When we left my guess is the wait was then 1 1/2 to 2 hours long.

We went to the children's museum and decided to play with the clay. Maegan decided though that she didn't want to shape the clay, she had more fun painting. So she took the paint brush and the water and painted the clay, the table, the rolling pins, etc.

Every couple of months we have a "Celebrate Culture" for the women at church. Each time we celebrate a differen't culture. It's a lot of fun. This time it was India and we learned how to make curry chicken and a rice dish. Here are some pictures of a group that came in and performed for us.

Haley is still in the hospital. Damage to 3 organs but hemoglobin count stopped dropping last night so if all goes well, they won't need to do a transfusion or surgery after all. She is on Morphine for pain and keeping her prob. until Monday for supervision and to make sure she doesn't clot. I'll let you know more when I hear. Thanks!"

We headed downtown to check out a bookstore that takes up a whole city block and is three stories tall. But when we couldn't find parking, we gave up and went out to lunch instead.

So I'm watching Maegan's two friends, Sean and Aiden, while their parents go out for the night. I decide it's time to quiet everyone down so I put it in a DVD for them all to watch. Maegan plops down on Daddy's lap and the boys quickly surround. The next thing we know Maegan is putting her arm around Aiden. Daddy's comment "Great, now on top of worrying about the boys, I have to worry about my own daughter going to the movies and putting her arm around the guys." Poor Dad!!!!!

My Sister's friend Heather was in a car accident with two of her children, Haley (13) and Kie (10). Haley has scratches on her stomach from her seatbelt and is complaining of her stomach hurting. Kie has a bloody nose and a few other symptoms I can't recall. Heather was limping and hurting also. They were all taken to the hospital via Ambulance. Please pray that none of them have internal injuries and they will all be allright. Meanwhile, Sandy is watching her other two children for her.

I don't know what was more fun - watching the Superbowl or watching Maegan play with the cats at our friends house. I think everyone actually had more fun watching Maegan until the fourth quarter. She was so funny. The cats were loving her as she was teasing them with a fishing toy. She was squeeling and they were running and jumping all over the place. But then the fourth quarter of the game came and what a great ending to a Superbowl. Here are a few pics of our cheerleader who turned out to just be a cat teaser.

Having a Bad Day!

Okay - so I woke up this morning and was puting my makeup on when I noticed this horrible, ugly blackhead in the middle of my cheek. What a way to start the day. Then, I had planned to take Maegan to story time at the library. She loves it. I actually had to talk her into it this morning for some reason. So I got her all excited to go. We got our shoes on then our coats and then I got her all buckled up in her seat ready to go. I got in the car and started pulling it out of the garage. Something didn't seem quite right though. Rick drove it last, so I was thinking to myself "my goodness, what did he do." I got the car out of the garage and shut the garage door and was wondering why it was driving so funny. So I got out and looked at the tire and sure enough I had a flat tire. Great! (This is my first flat tire, EVER) Then I had to get a disappointed Maegan out of the car and show her the tire to explain to her why we were not going to the library after all. At least we have a birthday party we get to go to this afternoon. Praise God, it's at our neighbors house who lives right behind us. :-) We just have to walk around our house and up their driveway.

This is the most snow we have gotten since we moved to Portland. Also the most consecutive days of snowing. It is supposed to continue to snow through Christmas Eve and then rain on Christmas Day. I actually hope it will continue through Christmas Day so we can have a white Christmas, then after Christmas day it can turn to rain if it wants. This is the very first Gingerbread house I have ever made so be kind. Maegan and Rick and helped too. Maegan had a lot of fun putting all the little candies on. She would get made at Rick and I whenever we tried to eat one because she wanted to decorate :-)

This is an update for all of you who were praying for me during all my medical issues. If you didn't know, after I was finally getting over all of my medical issues a hit a major depression a little over a year ago. Well I am excited to report that I have just, successfully I believe, weaned off of my anti-depressent. This means I am now off of all of the medications I was on, with the exception of the blood thinning medicine that I will have to take for the rest of my life. I'm not sure how I would have gotten through the last couple of years without my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and the wonderful support of family and friends. God bless you.

First Dentist Appointment!

Maegan had her first trip to the dentist yesterday. He said her teeth look great but she is starting to have a space between her top teet and bottom teeth. Then the dentist informed us it was time to get rid of the paci. :-( When we got home I cut off the tips of all of her paci's. Needless to say she is not very happy about that. She woke up quite a bit last night. She has a hard time sleeping without her paci. I gave her one of her cut up paci's but she doesn't like it. Which is the way it is supposed to be. She kept asking for one more paci. Poor thing. I gave her all of them but she still kept asking for "one more" meaning she wanted one that wasn't cut. I hope this doesn't take too many nights to adjust. Mommy doesn't do well without sleep, as my Mom and Sister are very well aware, from growing up with me. :-)

Pride Cometh Before a Fall

Okay, so I was making a Birthday cake for Rick from scratch. I was soooooo proud of myself because both the cake and the icing turned out. Last time I made icing from scratch it was too runny but this time it came out perfect. So the cake cooled and I iced the cake. I covered it loosely with alluminum foil because I don't have a cake plate and I am out of all other wraps. Well I needed to get it out of the way because it was taking up too much space on the counter. I decided to set it up on top of our toaster, it is a large toaster. Then I turned around to clean up the dishes. Next thing you know I hear this clank - I turned around to see the cake, plate, and covering had fallen onto the counter and was on its way down to the floor. Before I could get to it it landed face down on the floor. :-( That's what I get for being so proud. On a good note, somehow the cake survived with just minor damage from the candles I had already put in it. It may not look perfect anymore but at least its edible.

In case any of you were concerned, I successfully made a batch of stove top popcorn this morning. Yay! I am so proud of myself, I didn't burn a single kernel. We'll have to see if I can keep it that way. :-)

Putting out Fires!

Well, tonight was an interesting night in the Sargent Household. I decided to try my hand at making popcorn on the stove. Everything started well, as I followed the directions on the bag of popcorn. However, shortly into heating the oil I noticed a lot of smoke coming out of the pan from under the lid. I thought to myself, this doesn't seem right. I don't remember this much smoke when my Dad made popcorn when I was little. So I thought I'd better check it out. I took the lid off of the pan and the next then I saw was huge flames shooting up to the top of the stove. I did the only naturally thing, while I was making sure Maegan was safely away - I yelled for Rick - "Fire, Fire". Together we threw some salt on the fire and got it out. Maegan and I were a little shook up so we went to her room where I could read to her and let her know everything was all right and that Daddy put the fire out. After reading one story I reassured her that the fire was all-gone. I asked her if she wanted me to show her that the fire was all-gone. So we headed back to the kitchen. We where watched Rick cleaning up and her and I saying "Fire, all-gone - Fire, all-gone". I think I'll be hearing that for awhile now. - All is well now and Maegan is safely tucked away in bed sound asleep. :-) Thank you Lord for your protection.

Day Trip to the Beach

The weather here was beautiful this weekend so Rick and I decided to take advantage of it. We took a daytrip to the beach - Seaside, Oregon. As usual it was quite windy and chilly but when you were sitting down out on the sand it was nice and warm.

Doodlebops

The Doodlebops were playing at the Oregon State Fair on Sunday and we were lucky enough to get last minute tickets to go. Maegan had a blast. We were able to get seats right next to an aisle so Maegan was able to get up and dance in aisle. She danced for almost the entire show. When they were all done she kept saying one more song, one more song. Below is a picture of her and Dad waiting for the show to start and then a couple of pictures of the Doodlebops. I wish I got a chance to get a picture of her dancing in the aisle but I was to busy watching and dancing with her. :-)

Last weekend we celebrated Maegan's 2nd Birthday with an Elmo themed party. We had Elmo balloons, pinata, table accesories and Elmo cupcakes. Her Grandpa and Grandma Hamilton were able to make it up here to celebrate and we also had her best friends, Gabe and Landon, over to celebrate. We decorated the house the night before so when Maegan woke up she came into the kitchen and living room with her eyes wide open. She was so excited. Here a just a couple of pictures.

Maegan has been able to get her leg over the edge of her crib for a little while now but I wasn't worried. She is usually very cautious, but the other day when she put her tummy up on the top of the crib and almost fell out forward but went backward instead, I got worried. So we changed her over to her toddler bed this weekend. I was afraid she would be upset to see part of her bed gone, so I made a big deal out of it. I let her watch Daddy take it apart and then we took her out shopping to get new bedding. They had two choices, either Disney Princesses or Dora. She picked Dora. When we put her to bed that night she must have played for about an hour talking to Dora and Boots on her bed. I forgot to get the bedrail and Rick hardly slept last night, he was afraid she would fall out and break something. She like to move all around her bed at night so it was nerve racking. Today I ran out and got her the bed railing so all should be better tonight.

We had a wonderful day at the Washington County Fair today. Maegan got to see all kinds of animals, ie pigs, cows, horses, bunnies, goats, ducks, etc. We watched an audience participation Wild West Show. We enjoyed the draft horse show, watching all the horses and carriage drivers. And of course we got to enjoy a few carnival rides.

Maegan and I went through the dinosaur exhibit at the zoo. She did really good. She got a little scared when the giant T-Rex roared. So when I took this picture and put her up close to a couple of dinosaurs she was still a little nervous. However when we walked away she kept wanting to go back up and see them.

Go Diego Go!

Rick, Maegan and I were blessed by winning tickets to see "Go Diego Go" Live. We went Sunday night to the 5PM showing. It was great. Maegan had so much fun. She was entranced during the whole show and it was a long show. However, when it was over she was so upset. I had to tell her Diego, Alicia and Dora had to go home and go to sleep and so did she. When we got home she was so tired but she was also over stimulated we had the hardest time getting her to go to sleep. It was all worth it though to watch her jump and dance and growl like baby jaguar. Below is a picture of Maegan and me and below that is Maegan with her baby jaguar mask. They don't allow cameras in the show so unfortunately these are all the pictures we have.

Summer Concert

Last night we went over to our little shopping area just down the street. They are having their annual summer concerts. They had all kinds of booths set up. Maegan loved the Army guy. I wish we got a picture of him. There was an army man in an army costume that made him look like a man 2x the size of the average man. Maegan got such a kick out of him. This morning we went down to a local park for a 4th of July gathering. They had jumpers, face painting, dunking tanks, hot dogs, cotton candy, ice cream and soda all for free. They do have a suggested donation and box to put your money in for the donation and it was well worth it. We had a great morning. Below is a picture of Maegan with Chuck E Cheese. She doesn't yet know who Chuck E Cheese is but she loved watching the mouse. :-) Tonight we are getting together with some friends for a bar-b-que. So hopefully I will have more pictures later. It's currently raining outside so hopefully it will let up before the evening. Happy 4th of July.

Maegan loves to help Mommy in the kitchen. She helps me make dinner, bake pies, and make cookies. She always insists that I wear my apron while cooking, but when we are all done then it is her turn to wear the apron and cook in her kitchen.
